I was lucky enough to win a copy of the Just Cross Stitch Ornament Issue from Plum Street Samplers. I have never, and I really mean that, never won a thing in my life, so this was great. Meanwhile my son won a competition in his French class and was presented with a copy of Le Petit Prince. I have a few little finishes to show too.

I have a busy few weeks approaching, DS has a full schedule with school, exams and leaving primary school activities (omg, I am so not ready to be the mum of a high school student)! I am attempting to decorate before the summer begins but I am lacking the will to do it. I just want to sit down and craft.

Just wake me up, My holiday can't be over already, sob, sob. Our villa was beautiful, the peace, the wildlife (ok there are a few stories to be told there), we didn't want our holiday to end.

I had a little incident with a lizard. There are plenty of them in Greece, even here at home we always have one coming onto our balcony and hiding in one of my plant pots. To be honest I am not so scared of them anymore, now huge, gigantic cockroaches are another matter. Anyway one evening I went to hang out the washing, I opened the door and felt something fall on my head, it felt weighty, not like an insect, so I bent my head and then the horror of having something on me kicks in and then I start to try to get it off (yes, arms waving in the air in panic) Meanwhile, DH is watching the tv and totally ignoring me, how could he?!? Then, plop, a lizards falls to the floor in front of me and runs off. It must have froze with fright when he first fell on my head, if I hadn't have hit it off he might have become my new hair accessory.

Now back to reality. My DH opened the restaurant yesterday. DS is sad because he is thinking about school and as a result has all his Lego everywhere to take his mind off such depressing thoughts. And poor old me, I have a list as long as my arm with jobs I need to finish and I am desperate to stitch.

As we were having our bathrooms refurbished, I was lucky enough to spend a couple of weeks away with my son. We had a wonderful time together, the hotel was amazing, small, stylish, fab service.

Tuesday I celebrated my birthday, I can't really be 43, just not possible, there must be some mistake. Anyway I had a nice day, had gifts from my husband and son and we went out for dinner in the evening.

Maybe it's the changing of seasons, my son going back to school, who really knows but I need to decide how to spend my days. I waste a lot of my time thinking about all the things that I should do and that's it, just thinking and more thinking. Someone help me, put me on the right track, I am desperate to sew, it calms me and keeps me happy. Maybe I will start on Monday (well I need to get on top of the housework and then my mind will be clear). Wish me luck!!!!

Another summer coming to a close, it makes me feel so sad. We had a wonderful holiday, extremely relaxing and quiet. Most of the time was spent swimming, eating, a little sight seeing and lazing around the pool at our villa.

I have been searching for quilters in Greece for some time and I came across Jessica and recently emailed her. She doesn't live here but her husband is Greek and I read that they would be here in the summer. We got to meet, well that was pretty amazing for me and we got to chat about quilting and other things too. It so happens that I actually knew her father-in-law, just imagine finding out that, he was my OB/GYN!!!!!!

If you love to quilt then take a look at her blog, http://littleshika.blogspot.com I hope she updates it very soon with the quilt she is in the process of stitching. I have seen just a little bit of this and her work is fantastic and I am eager to see the end result.

Why I feel like I am 90 years old sometimes! For the third summer in a row I have ended up taking my DS to the hospital. This time he had a nasty fall, hitting and grazing his head and elbow. Thankfully he is fine, a couple of days at home resting and now he is back to his normal self.

My WIP, Beatrix Potter Quaker Sampler. I am using 32ct R&R Daytona Sands fabric and GAST Berry Cobbler. I am progressing slowly but that seems to be the way my life is going too.

We leave in a couple of days, I have yet to decide what comes along with me, a quilting or cross-stitching project.

What happened to the time? The days just seem to pass by so quickly. I found that I was stitching less and less yet I longed to be stitching but I just couldn't manage it, does that make sense because it sounds like I am contradicting myself. I would have days where I would feel guilty if I sat and stitched instead of doing housework or devoting every spare minute to my son, so in the end I would not stitch just not to have those feelings.

I hope I can get back to how it was before. There are so any wonderful projects that I would love to stitch, slowly, slowly, day by day.

An update will hopefully follow tomorrow. It has been quite a difficult time recently, especially the past week as my sweet little boy was in hospital. Thankfully he came home yesterday and he is making a good recovery so far. Anyway, I have a few little finishes to show and I actually completed my Brightneedle Dolls House.

I am starting this week off with another finish. The light isn't very good today so hopefully tomorrow I will be able to post photographs of the back and inside of this project. It would have been finished sooner but when I had sewn it together I noticed that I had forgotten to stitch the letter 'j'. Anyway, I managed, rather well, to stitch the missing letter without having to undo the case.

Two designs I have been working on recently are by Little House of Needleworks. I plan to stitch the entire 'Dear Diary' collection. I already have a third design almost completed.

You can see how well this is coming along. It really is an amazing design, such lovely details and I can't wait to get this framed.
